ALTERNATIVE WAY OF CONSTRUCTING A RICH PICTURE |
V. Ryan © 2010 |
A rich picture is normally put
together by placing the main theme in the centre of a piece of paper. Then
words that relate to the main theme are arranged around it. Lines are then
drawn from the theme to all the words. One of the best ways to start a rich picture is to list all the words / phrases, connected to the main theme. For example, the words listed below all link to the term ‘phone’. |
MOBILE - ELECTRICITY - PYLON - TALK - CHAT - CHARGE - RING - TONE - WIRE - TEXT - NOKIA - BLACKBERRY - TELEPHONE - SIGNAL - CREDIT - BLUETOOTH - CAMERA -TYPE - SIMCARD- CONTRACT - INTERNET - GAMES - CONTACT - NUMBER - MAIL - MESSAGES - INBOX - OUTBOX - COMMUNICATIONS - iPHONE - APPLE - SAMSUNG - WI-FI - CONVERSATION - SCREEN - BATTERY - SONY ERICSSON - TOUCH SCREEN - BAR - SLIDE - HANDS FREE - KEYPAD - NETWORK - ANSWER - SKYPE - LG - MUSIC - VIDEOS |
Once an impressive list of words / phrases have been compiled, they can be arranged on a piece of paper forming a mind map (dia.1). HINT - put the shorter words nearer the centre of the paper and the longer words to the outside. This helps leave room for the lines drawn from the main theme to each word. Finally add pictures / images to the mind map, making it a Rich Picture (dia.2). In a complex and detailed rich picture, there is no need to add pictures representing every word/phrase. |
