Product analysis involves looking closely at existing products and identifying how they work, the materials they are made from, the industrial processes used to manufacture them and their key features. It may also involves the designer asking the general public or potential customers what they think of the product. The aim of product analysis is to help the designer develop even better designs and products in the future.

The truck / trolley below is a Folding Platform Truck with flatbed non-slip platform and scuff resistant corners.

TRUCK 'A'

The handle folds so that when it is stored it takes up a small amount of space and can be stored standing vertically or horizontally.

A basic product analysis of truck 'A'  is written below.

MATERIALS: Largely manufactured from steel tube. incorporates a non-slip surface and scuff resistant corners, manufactured from HDPE (High Density Polyethylene).

WHEELS: It has strong robust wheels that enable it to carry heavy weights and also remain manoeuvrable. Rubber tyres minimise the noise at it is pushed along and ensures quite smooth movement.

MOVEMENT: Very good movement when travelling straight, although more difficult to handle when turning corners.

WEIGHT: It is relatively heavy, as its frame is manufactured from mild steel tubing. The steel tube ensures the strength of the trolley and keeps the overall weight down.

HANDLE: The handle is not height adjustable although it is comfortable to use.

COST: £80.
