1a. Why is steel a suitable material for this purpose? |

1b. A plan view of the steel serrated edge of the cutter is shown opposite. The cutter can be made in a school workshop. With the aid of diagrams and notes, describe how the serrated edge can be made. Use the space below. |

1c. It has been found that the serrated edge becomes blunt after limited use. Experts has suggested that the entire cutter needs ‘hardening’. |
