The educational toy below is also a ‘walker’. The side view shows plastic gears that mesh together, wheels with shapes and even a mirror. The young child holds onto the handle of the walker / educational toy and pushes it along. The handle also has counters that move when pushed to the right or left. The toy is light weight and is manufactured from High Density Polystyrene.

   

Ergonomics is considered very carefully when designing a walking device. Dimensions A, B and C are worked out so that they fit the average child. This achieved by measuring these dimensions on hundreds, perhaps even thousands of children and then working out the average. The average measurements are then applied to the walking toy design.

   
   

 

   

A design fault has been found on the handle. Children hands tend to slide along the handle which means any child could slip and fall over. Draw a new handle so that it is ergonomically designed, fitting a childs hands, preventing him/her from losing grip.
