This question is about creative design. Read the design brief and your design requirements again before attempting the question below. Sketch FIVE different ideas for a remote control organiser. All your designs must store a range of remote controls. Marks will be awarded for creativity and imagination. |
This remote control organiser is manufactured from ‘textiles’, providing a flexible solution to the design problem. The organiser can hold six separate controllers and ‘wraps’ around the arm of a chair. It can be moved from one chair to another and fits most sizes and shapes. |
The shape / form of the organiser, means that it is unlikely to slip off the chair. In fact, a textiles material that creates friction with the chair could be selected for its manufacture. |
This design is ideal, in terms of ergonomics, as it can be transferred by the user to a variety of chairs, allowing for comfort and easy access to the remote controls. |
The use of a textile material, means that there are a numerous ‘types’ of material, colours, patterns and textures. This allows the potential customer to select a material that will fit into almost any style of furniture. This is an ‘inclusive’ design. |
