Protection of the environment and recycling have become very important issues for individuals, companies and schools to contemplate. Schools produce ‘rubbish’ which all too often is thrown away rather than being recycled. This often takes place at break times and lunch time when recycling bins are not always available. Most of the packaging used to protect the foods/snacks we eat can be recycled although school children do not always have the opportunity to use recycling bins. Pupils are well aware of the importance of conserving the environment and an important aspect of this is recycling. The design of existing recycling bins lacks imagination and they do not catch the attention of young people. |
