DESIGN PROBLEM - MEDIA STORAGE

V. Ryan © 2007-2017

SAMPLE DESIGN PROBLEM: When my dad gets home in the evening he is extremely tired and likes to watch DVDs from his favourite chair. He has so many that often they are left out on the floor and tables. He stores them on the coffee table but there are so many that some fall on the floor and are left lying there. This is dangerous as it is easy to trip over them.
My dad always finds it difficult to find the one he wants to watch. This is because they are not stored in any particular order and some have been lost.
My dad also likes to listen to 1960s music. He has many CDs but he has the same storage problem.

When I get home from school I am tired and I like to relax before starting my homework by listening to my CD collection.

I have so many that they are often left out, lying on the coffee table and my dad always complains of the mess.

Some of my DVDs and CDs end up on the floor where they become a safety hazard.

This is dangerous as it is easy to trip on them.

I often find it difficult to find the CD or DVD that I want because they are spread out all over the room.

This is because they are not stored in any particular order and some have been lost.

Sometimes my dad tidies them away and I have real difficulty find them.

I waste a lot of time trying to find the DVD or CD of my choice, time I could be spending on my homework.
