VIBRATION TESTING |
In a vibration test, the model structure is placed on a base that moves from side to side rapidly. This mimics an earth quake and the bed can be set to represent various earth quake intensities. The test normally continues until the structure fails. |
COMPRESSION TESTING |
In a compression test the model structure rest on two ‘blocks’. Weights
can be placed on the top of the structure, increasing until the structure
fails. Alternatively, pressure can be applied to the structure, through an hydraulic / pneumatic system. The pressure is increased and measured at intervals. The test continues until the structure fails. |
