SCANTEK Equipment, modular Technology |
Learning
Objectives: |
The pupils
will work through the modular Technology course - pneumatics,
mechanisms, construction and electronics. The pupils will gain an
understanding of CAMs through a demonstration and use of video clip.
They will start the production of an Technology information sheet
for young children, through the use of DTP. |

Activities: |
A
demonstration will be given regarding CAMs. They will be shown a
number of models and how the shape of the CAM alters movement of the
follower. They will be shown a practical example of a toy developed
from a CAM. They will be shown a video clip of a CAM in operation.
They will view a video.
The pupils will continue on their modular Technology work -
working at their own speed.
In the second half of the lesson the pupils will start the
production of an information sheet based on their SCANTEK work. This
will be aimed at Primary School children (Year 6). This is be
constructed through DTP. |
Differentiation: |
The pupils
will progress through the modules at their own speed, recording key
words and calculations at their own speed. |
Contribution to Core Skills: |
Use of ICT
