The mechanism seen below is a combination of a cam profile, a follower and a spring. As the the cam rotates the follower is held in position by the force of the spring. The spring resists stretching and so the follower is held onto the cam profile.

Design a mechanism similar to the one seen above. It must include at least a cam profile, a follower and a spring. More mechanisms such as gears, more cams or springs can be added if you wish. The mechanism can be of no real purpose but may be interesting to look at as it moves. Add notes to explain how all the parts work together.
