DRAWING THE CRATE AND ITS CONTENTS |
1. Draw a box / crate round the original photograph / drawing. |
2. Select a point on the photograph and using a ruler, draw a faint line across to the crate / box |
3. Draw as many guidelines as you think are necessary, from the outline of the hair dryer, to the edge of the box / crate |
4. Use a compass or pair of dividers to transfer measurements ‘X’ and ‘Y’ to a new crate / box. |
5. Transfer all the guidelines to the new crate / box, using the compass / dividers technique. |
6. Draw the outline of the hair dryer. You are now ready to add the shade / rendering. |
7. Add the remaining detail. |
ADDING SHADING WITH FELT PENS |
1. Select a ‘red’ fine felt pen and draw the outline of the red area. |
2. Select a medium point ‘red’ felt pen and draw a broader outline. |
3. Select a chisel point ‘red’ felt pen and add layers of horizontal colour. A ‘brush’ point is also effective. |
4. Complete the colour rendering using the same technique for each colour. |
