You are to design a Coat of Arms for your family name
using the four blank shields below. A good idea may be to start with a
simple drawing that represents your hobby or the type of work you like
doing, drawing inside the first blank shield. Then add detail (see
examples of existing Coat of Arms). Add your surname above or below
each of the examples and carefully select a style of writing. Consider
colour carefully. Most Coats of Arms are based on a limited number of
colours. Often the colours represent something of importance - gold
represents wealth, red represents the willingness of the bearer of the
Coat of Arms to lay down his life in battle. Alongside each of your
designs, explain the importance of the illustrations inside/around the
shield. Select your best idea, draw it on card, cut it out, back it with clear sticky-back plastic, tape a safety pin to the back and wear it. |
