||
The eco-friendly symbol is one that suggests the product is environmentally friendly. It is a general information symbol aimed at informing the potential customer of the products environmental credentials.
The self charge symbol is applied to the packaging of products such as wind up torches or radios. It means that the electricity required for the product to work can be provided by environmentally friendly means, such as a wind up electro-mechanism. Wind up torches normally have a handle that the user rotates to produce electricity that is stored in the internal rechargeable batteries.
The rechargeable symbol is displayed on products that can be recharged. Products that have rechargeable batteries and consequently do not need replacement batteries normally carry this symbol. Rechargeable batteries can be charged and used thousands of times. The batteries do not need replacing or throwing away. This saves damage to the environment.
This symbol is used if replacement batteries are not needed because the product can be recharged. It indicates the presence of rechargeable batteries and often the presence of a method of recharging such as a solar panel or wind up electro-mechanism.
This symbol normally applies to electrical devices that use LEDs rather than bulbs. A good example are modern torches. Most now depend of LEDs as the light source as they are very efficient and very bright. Furthermore, LEDs do not need replacing unlike old fashioned bulbs.
