PDF FILE - CLICK HERE FOR PRINTABLE WORKSHEET The SolarBright torch seen below utilises modern solar
technology with a traditional product. The solar panels are based on those
used for years with calculators. The photovoltaic panels provide enough
electricity to charge up efficient lithium batteries. In turn they provide
3.6 volts to power the three ultra bright LEDs. |
||
The torch is also a clock and alarm. This type of product is aimed at the general public especially those who are interested in protecting the environment. The LEDs never need replacing and the batteries can be recharged in the region of a thousand times. Furthermore, as the torch is charged by the sun, recharging is free. |
||
The simple suction cup can be used to secure the torch against a pane of glass (seen below). The sun light can then be captured by the solar panel. Alternatively, the torch can be placed on a flat or angle surface when recharging is needed. This one way in which the torch design is innovative. The use of a solar panel and rechargeable lithium batteries are other innovations. The torch is also stylish and has been ergonomically designed to fit the hand comfortably. |
