The world economy is currently based on the large scale use of fossil fuels, to produce the fuels and energy. This drives the economy, from transport to domestic heating. However, the downside is massive environmental damage, global warming, climate change and atmospheric pollution.

The change to an hydrogen based economy, provides the possibility of a future, based on a fuels and energy, that does little damage to the environment.

ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION

As the hydrogen / air mixture burns, it heats a water tank creating high pressure steam. The steam is used to turn turbines, producing electricity. Water and a small amount of nitrogen (from the air) are the only byproducts. Filters remove nitrogen particles and the pure water is returned to the environment.

TRANSPORT, HOMES AND BUSINESSES

Electricity produced at the hydrogen fuelled power station, can be transmitted along powerlines directly to homes and businesses. Alternatively, hydrogen fuel cells can provide localised power and power vehicles.

Alternatively, hydrogen gas can be used to power vehicles with internal combustion engines and even small planes. However, larger tanks are required for hydrogen, which is a problem, especially for the aviation industry, where weight is a serious and restricting design factor.
