V. Ryan © 2008-2017

Green CD Program (logo opposite) involves the following:

* Using New eco-friendly DigiPak™ trays
* Using FSC-approved paper
* Using Vegetable-based inks
* Limited carbon emissions
* Using affordable green choices, where possible.
* The MMS Corporate Environmental Commitment.

FSC The forest Stewardship Council (logo below) promotes the responsible management of forests for example, sustainable forestry. The FSC has defined high standards of forest conservation and management. Any packaging with the FSC logo has been manufactured with conservation and the environment in mind.

FSC certification for CD and DVD packaging. Consumers are showing concern regarding the importance of considering the environment and conserving the earths resources. As consumer concern grows so does the interest of manufacturers
As consumers and retailers alike become more conscious of the need to protect the environment, and this consumer led demand has led to the development of environmentally responsible packaging.

The logo guarantees that paper and card has been purchased from responsible forest operations (sustainable forestry). This basically means that for every tree cut down for the production of paper at least one is planted to replace it.

Packaging manufacturers are taking other measures to protect the environment through environmentally sound practices and processes in our printing for CD and DVD projects:

Inks are vegetable-based, water-based with biodegradable varnishes. This helps protect the environment. Ink and fountain solutions are disposed of in a safe, controlled manner.

Solutions used to clean presses and blankets contain the lowest amount of Volatile Organic Compounds available.

Efforts are also taken to use recycled card and paper where possible.
