FABRICATION TECHNIQUE:
Dovetail joints

WHY USED FOR THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION:
Dovetail joints are an efficient way of joining two wood boards, for the corner of a cabinet. They interlock, making it virtually impossible to pull apart. When glue such as PVA, woodworkers resin or cascamite is applied and allowed to dry, the joint is almost indestructible. Dovetail joints are an interesting visual feature, allowing the cabinet maker to display his / her craft skills.
