The box opposite has been designed by a pupil to store and transport a snooker / pool cue. However, it is incomplete and a number of parts are missing.

   

1. List three parts that you think are missing.
PART ONE:   PIANO HINGE
PART TWO:   LOCKING MECHANISM

PART THREE:   BRASS NAME PLATE

   
2. For each of the parts you have named explain the function of each.
PART ONE EXPLANATION:
A long hinge is required so that the box can be opened and closed easily. A piano hinge will extend the entire length.
 
PART TWO EXPLANATION:
 A expensive snooker / pool cue will need protecting. A lock will stop anyone except the owner from opening the box.
 
PART THREE EXPLANATION:
A brass name plate will allow the name of the owner to be clearly displayed.
