The animation opposite shows a sellotape dispenser, the type often seen on a desk top or in n office. Its operation is simple, the sellotape is pulled off the roll and is cut to the required length by stretching it over the steel cutter. Three views of a sellotape dispenser / cutter are seen below. |

Diagram ‘B’ is a plan view and shows the basic assembly of the plastic dispenser. The sellotape is ready to be pushed on to the roll holder. It is held in position by a ‘plug’. The plug is pushed into the roll holder, which is hollow and stays in position due to its tight fit. The steel cutter is ready to be pushed into a slot at the far end of the dispenser. |
