Design Brief
A manufacturer of trolley systems has asked you to produce a range of designs for a gardening trolley, aimed specifically at helping elderly gardeners in the movement and selection of gardening tools and equipment.
You must produce five ideas for the gardening trolley, clearly indicating how each will help an elderly person in the pursuit of his / her hobby, gardening.
Your designs should clearly show how tools and equipment are held in position and how they can be removed when required.
Below is the selection of tools that your gardening trolley should hold / store (add more as required).
1. Write three design requirements / needs of a trolley for the elderly, for use in the garden (see sample answers below)..

Requirement: The gardening trolley should store a range of tools and equipment.
Explanation: So that they are easy to transport together, around the garden.
The trolley should be easy to manouevre around the garden.
The garden may be landscaped which means that the trolley will be moved into different positions in the garden, requiring a variety of twists and turns.
The trolley should be lightweight, so that it is easy to move over soft ground, such as grass and soil.
If the trolley is too heavy it will stick in soft soil / ground making it difficult or impossible to move around the garden.
Recycled and sustainable materials should be use to manufacture the trolley and it’s wheels.
This is to ensure that the trolley’s manufacture does a little harm to the environment as possible.
