This natural wood remote control organiser, will be manufactured from materials from a sustainable source / forest. The organiser has a polished finished, having been varnished and waxed to produce a glossy surface. |
The ends have been reduced in size, which allows easier access to the remote controls, as the storage area is more open. The handle has been simplified. It is now a piece of lightweight anodised aluminium tube, adding colour and making the product look more modern. |
An ergonomically designed foam handle has been positioned centrally on the tube. this makes the organiser more comfortable to lift and move. the polyurethane foam has been formed through injection moulding. |
The corner joints have been simplified, by substituting a mitre joint at each corner. This is an attractive joint and much easier to manufacture, if the product is to be mass produced. |
The organiser is divided into four sections, for different types and sizes of remote control. A cross halving joint is at the centre of the divides and plain housing joints at each of the four ends. |
The final manufactured product has a natural wood finish and varnished, for the customer who likes traditional aesthetics. For a customer with more modern tastes, a spray paint finish is applied, leaving a colourful gloss surface. |
These sketches show the organiser being used and how easy it is to move and carrier. |
